How it works

15.7" octagonal softbox

The eight-sided octagonal shape turns the direct output of a compatible light into a broader, softer source. Its shape also creates rounded catchlights, making it well suited to portraits and other applications where the appearance of the light in the subject's eyes matters.

Integrated 1-stop diffuser

The front diffusion material softens and evens out the light before it reaches the subject. This helps reduce the harder appearance associated with an unmodified light source. The integrated diffuser produces a stated 1-stop light loss.

Silver reflective interior

A silver interior reflects light through the front diffusion material, helping make efficient use of the connected light's output.

50° egg crate grid

Fit the included 50° grid when you need softer light without allowing it to spread as widely around the scene. The grid reduces spill and provides greater directional control, which can be particularly useful for portraits, product photography and video when you want to keep light away from a background or neighbouring areas.

Twist Lock mounting

Westcott's Twist Lock system provides a secure connection between the Octa 15 and compatible Westcott lights. Confirmed compatibility includes the Westcott FJ100 Strobe, FJ100 Speedlight, FJ80 II Speedlight, FJ80-SE Speedlight, FJ200 Strobe and L60-B LED.

Quick-open construction
