The Westcott FJ100 2-Light Backpack Kit is a portable off-camera flash setup designed for photographers who need speed, control and flexibility without carrying a large lighting system. At the heart of the kit are two FJ100 100Ws strobes. Each provides a 9-stop power range from 0.78 to 100Ws, automatic or manual 24–200mm zoom and recycling times from 0.01 to 1.6 seconds. How it works

Two FJ100 100Ws strobes

Each FJ100 combines 100Ws of flash output with a compact 6.2 x 5 x 3.1" body weighing 1.57 lb / 0.71 kg. The 9-stop output range runs from 0.78 to 100Ws, giving you considerably more control than simply switching between full and reduced power. This makes it easier to balance flash against available light or fine-tune a multi-light portrait setup. An integrated LCD touchscreen provides direct access to settings, with colour-coded LED group indicators helping you identify individual lights when working with more complex setups.

Automatic and manual 24–200mm zoom

The FJ100 features a 24–200mm zoom range. It can automatically match the focal length being used or be adjusted manually when you want direct control over the spread of the flash. A wider setting provides broader coverage, while narrowing the beam allows the light to be concentrated more precisely.

Fast recycling and action control

Recycle times range from 0.01 to 1.6 seconds, while the FJ100 supports continuous capture at up to 60 fps, camera dependent. Freeze functionality provides flash durations as short as 1/40,400 sec at t0.5, making the system suitable for situations where controlling subject movement is important. High-speed sync supports shutter speeds up to 1/8000 sec, giving photographers greater control when balancing flash against bright ambient light or working at wider apertures.

FJ Mini rechargeable batteries

Each FJ100 uses a removable 7.4V, 3200mAh FJ Mini lithium-ion battery capable of delivering 700+ full-power flashes per charge. USB-C charging takes approximately 140 minutes, and LED battery indicators provide a convenient view of remaining power. The FJ100 can also be charged or powered through USB-C, helping extend its usefulness during longer shooting days.

FJ-T1 M multi-brand trigger

The included FJ-T1 M provides touchscreen wireless control of the lighting system and supports select Canon, Nikon, FUJIFILM, Panasonic Lumix and Olympus cameras. The FJ wireless system operates over 2.4GHz with 31 channels, 16 groups and a wireless range of up to 100m / 328.1'. Colour-coded group indicators make individual lights easier to identify when adjusting a multi-light setup.

StudioLink app control

When used with the FJ trigger, the Westcott StudioLink app for Android and iOS provides remote adjustment of lighting settings from a smartphone. This can make on-set adjustments easier when lights are positioned overhead, at a distance or in other locations that are inconvenient to reach between shots.

Octa 15 softbox and grid

The supplied Octa 15 Twist Lock softbox provides a compact modifier for creating softer, broader illumination than the bare flash head. Its removable 50° grid helps restrict spill and keep the light directed towards the subject, useful when greater separation or background control is required.

Two compact light stands

Two 7' compact stands allow both FJ100 units to be positioned independently. Each strobe also includes a removable tilt bracket with a 5/8" receiver, allowing its angle to be adjusted after mounting. The FJ100 additionally supports 8mm umbrella shafts for further light-shaping options.

Twist Lock modifier system

The FJ100 natively accepts compatible Westcott Twist Lock modifiers. It can also be paired with the separately available Westcott S-Bracket 2 for access to Bowens-mount softboxes and modifiers weighing up to 1.3 lb.
