Its multi-brand hot shoe provides compatibility with Canon, Nikon, FUJIFILM, Panasonic Lumix and Olympus cameras, while Sony cameras are supported in manual mode with an optional adapter. 100Ws output with 9-stop control
The FJ100 M provides 100Ws of maximum flash power with a 9-stop adjustment range from 0.78 to 100Ws. Power can be changed in 0.1- or 1-stop increments, giving you fine control when balancing flash with ambient light or matching several lights within a larger setup. Its 100Ws output also provides additional control when working in brighter rooms or challenging ambient conditions.
Multi-brand TTL operation
The FJ100 M is designed to work across multiple camera systems rather than being restricted to a single brand. Confirmed exposure control includes Canon E-TTL/E-TTL II, Nikon i-TTL and FUJIFILM TTL, alongside manual operation. The multi-brand hot shoe is also compatible with Panasonic Lumix and Olympus cameras, while Sony cameras can be used in manual mode with an optional adapter.
Fast recycling and flash duration
Recycle times range from 0.01 to 1.6 seconds, helping the flash keep pace during faster shooting sequences. Normal flash durations range from 1/540 to 1/17,000 sec (t0.1) and 1/1700 to 1/31,000 sec (t0.5). In Freeze mode, durations extend from 1/620 to 1/23,000 sec (t0.1) and 1/2000 to 1/55,600 sec (t0.5). The FJ100 M is capable of up to 60 fps, camera dependent.
Flexible flash positioning
The round flash head tilts through 90° and rotates through a full 360°, allowing the light to be bounced or directed as required. Manual and automatic zoom from 24-200mm adjusts the beam angle to suit different lenses and lighting requirements.
FJ Wireless integration
An integrated 2.4 GHz FJ Wireless transceiver allows the FJ100 M to operate as an on-camera flash and transmitter or as an off-camera wireless client. The wireless system provides control across 31 channels and up to 16 client groups, with a stated operating range of up to 328 ft / 100 m. Colour-coded LED group indicators make individual groups easier to identify when working with several lights.
Touchscreen control
A high-resolution LED touchscreen provides direct access to flash power, zoom, wireless settings and creative modes without relying on complex button combinations. Flash power can also be displayed in stops or fractions to suit the photographer's preferred workflow.
FJ Mini rechargeable battery
The supplied 7.4V, 23.38Wh, 3200mAh FJ Mini AC/DC lithium-ion battery provides 575+ full-power flashes and has a stated charge time of approximately 2.3 hours. LED status indicators show remaining battery power, while USB-C connectivity allows the FJ100 M to be charged or powered without interrupting the workflow. The battery is shared with the FJ100 Strobe, simplifying power management when both lights are used within the same kit.
Modelling light
A built-in 3W LED modelling lamp provides continuous illumination with independent brightness adjustment and automatic adjustment functionality. This provides a continuous reference for evaluating light placement before taking the photograph.
Twist Lock modifiers
The FJ100 M supports Westcott's Twist Lock modifier system, allowing compatible accessories such as barndoors, reflectors and snoots to be attached. It can also be paired with the separately available Westcott S-Bracket 2 for use with compatible Bowens-mount softboxes and modifiers weighing up to 1 lb.
Heat protection
An intelligent self-monitoring heat protection system supports up to 100 consecutive full-power flashes. Passive cooling and multi-stage heat protection help manage the unit during demanding shooting sessions, while IGBT+ technology supports camera compatibility and flash performance.
The FJ100 M combines the portability and positioning flexibility of a speedlight with 100Ws output and extensive FJ Wireless integration. It can move between on-camera flash, transmitter and off-camera lighting duties without requiring separate units for each role. Multi-brand compatibility is also valuable for photographers working with more than one supported camera system.
