Build a versatile two-light photography setup around a pair of Godox SK400IIIV 400Ws mains-powered studio flashes. This kit combines two matching flash heads with a 60x90cm rectangular softbox, a 40" translucent shoot-through umbrella and two 240cm air-cushioned light stands. The two modifiers give each light a different role. Use the rectangular softbox as your main or key light when you want softer, more controlled illumination, while the translucent umbrella provides a quick way to create broader, diffused light for fill or secondary lighting.
With two independently adjustable 400Ws flash heads, the kit gives you more control over lighting ratios, subject separation and background illumination than a single-light setup. Each SK400IIIV offers a six-stop power range from full power to 1/32, allowing the output of each light to be balanced independently. It is a straightforward mains-powered setup suited to photographers building a home studio, portrait space, content studio or product photography area.
Two Godox SK400IIIV 400Ws Studio Flashes
At the centre of the kit are two Godox SK400IIIV mains-powered monolights. Each flash provides 400Ws of output, giving you two independently positioned and controlled light sources. The six-stop adjustment range runs from full power down to 1/32 in 1/10-stop increments. This makes it easier to establish lighting ratios rather than simply having two lights producing the same output.
For example, one SK400IIIV can provide the main illumination while the second is reduced to create gentler fill. Alternatively, the second flash can be repositioned for background, edge or separation lighting. Each flash also has a 10W LED modelling lamp with adjustable brightness from 5–100%, helping you preview light placement and shadows before taking the photograph. Built-in 2.4GHz wireless receivers allow the flashes to work with compatible Godox X-Series wireless flash triggers. A wireless trigger is not included in this kit.
Godox 60x90cm Rectangular Softbox
The 60x90cm rectangular softbox gives you a controlled, diffused source that works particularly well as the main light. Its rectangular shape is useful for portraits, products and general studio work where you want a softer transition between highlights and shadows without spreading light as broadly as an umbrella. The softbox uses a Bowens S-Type fitting, matching the modifier mount on the SK400IIIV. It includes inner and outer diffusion for softening and evening the light.
40" Translucent Shoot-Through Umbrella
The second light is paired with a 40" translucent white umbrella. Used as a shoot-through modifier, the flash is directed through the translucent material to create a broad, diffused source. Its simple folding design also makes it quick to open, position and adjust. This makes it particularly useful as a fill light alongside the more controlled softbox, although the two modifiers can be swapped between roles depending on the required look.
Two 240cm Air-Cushioned Light Stands
Each flash has its own 240cm PiXAPRO light stand, allowing the two sources to be positioned and adjusted independently. The four-section stands provide height adjustment for different lighting positions, while their air-cushioned system helps prevent mounted equipment from dropping suddenly when a section is loosened. Each stand also features an interchangeable spigot with 1/4" and 3/8" threads.
Instead of supplying two identical modifiers, the kit combines a softbox and translucent umbrella. This gives you two different ways to shape the light straight away. For a classic portrait setup, the softbox can act as the key light while the umbrella provides softer fill from the opposite side. For product photography, one light can define the main direction while the second helps manage shadows or illuminate the background. Because both SK400IIIV flashes use the Bowens S-Type modifier mount, the setup can also be expanded with other compatible modifiers as your lighting requirements develop.
