Silks are used to diffuse light falling onto your set/talent by about one stop. Silks are ideal for use in situations where you need to reduce the amount of light on one part of the scene, whilst also reducing specularity.
The PiXAPRO Silk fabric uses the industry-standard Grey coloured border, around the silk, making it quick and easy for Gaffers and DPs to pick out of a pile, without having to spend time trying to figure out which grade of silk you have.
