The PocketWizard CM-N3-ACC Remote Camera Cable connects a PocketWizard radio to Canon cameras equipped with the 3-pin N3 remote terminal, allowing the camera to be triggered remotely.

A remote camera can provide perspectives that are difficult or impossible to capture while shooting handheld. Position a second camera where you cannot physically stand, fire it alongside your main camera, or use a remote setup in the studio so you can concentrate fully on directing and connecting with your subjects.

The cable connects a receiving PocketWizard radio to the camera's remote port. The remote camera can then be triggered from a handheld PocketWizard or from a transmitting PocketWizard connected to the main camera.

How it works

Connect the CM-N3-ACC to the compatible Canon camera's N3 remote port and a receiving PocketWizard radio. The remote camera can then be triggered using a handheld transmitting PocketWizard or from the shutter button of a main camera fitted with a transmitting PocketWizard.

For best results when triggering a remote camera at the same time as a handheld camera, PocketWizard recommends using a remote camera cable on both the transmitting and receiving radios.

With most mirrorless cameras, a second cable may also be required for functions such as silent shooting, electronic shutter or continuous high-speed drive where the camera's hot shoe may be disabled.

Half-press / pre-trigger

With compatible PocketWizard setups, half-press or pre-trigger functionality can prepare the remote camera before the final trigger. The camera can focus and confirm exposure without taking the photograph until the fire signal is received.

This can reduce the camera's response time because it is already prepared to capture the image. Continuous pre-triggering can be enabled with a PTMM adapter where supported, although this increases battery consumption.

For PocketWizard radios with mono sync ports, including older Plus, Plus II and MultiMAX radios using the top sync port, an MSMM or PTMM adapter is required.

The EOS R50 and M50 series do not have an external remote port and cannot be triggered by a PocketWizard radio using this cable.

For Canon cameras using a 2.5 mm subminiphone connection, a different cable is required.
