For ENG camera applications, SWIT specifies approximately three hours of operation.
Intelligent LCD monitoring
The integrated LCD provides useful battery information without relying solely on a basic level indicator. While the battery is powering equipment, the display shows the estimated remaining runtime in minutes. When the battery is not in use or is being charged, it displays remaining capacity as a percentage.
When estimated runtime drops below 15 minutes, the LCD flashes to alert the operator that a battery change or recharge will soon be required. A long press of the power-check button displays the battery's cycle count, providing additional information about its usage history.
Battery warnings
The intelligent display can also show warning signals and specific warning codes when the battery detects conditions including over-discharging, over-charging and circuit issues. The PB-S98S also communicates remaining runtime information to compatible RED and Sony viewfinders, allowing battery information to be monitored directly through supported camera systems.
Power accessories from the battery
Two D-Tap outputs provide connections for compatible camera accessories, reducing the need for separate accessory batteries. A USB connection is also provided for charging mobile devices, adding another useful power option when working on location.
