SwitKA-S30S V-Mount Hot-Swap Plate

The SWIT KA-S30S V-Mount Hot-Swap Plate provides continuous power during V-mount battery changes, helping prevent cameras and connected equipment from shutting down when a depleted battery needs to be replaced. A built-in 43Wh battery automatically takes over when the main V-mount battery is removed. With a 200W constant high-load capability, the internal battery provides at least two minutes of runtime at a 200W load, giving you time to fit a fresh battery without interrupting operation.

An integrated LCD countdown makes battery changes easy to manage. Once the V-mount battery is removed, the display counts down from 120 seconds, clearly showing the remaining hot-swap time. With two D-Tap outputs, 2-pin LEMO output, USB-A output and an 8-pin LEMO input, the KA-S30S can also form part of a more complete camera power setup. A supplied 15mm rod adaptor allows the plate to be installed on compatible 15mm rig systems.

How it works

Continuous power during battery changes

When the fitted V-mount battery is removed, the KA-S30S automatically uses its internal battery cells to maintain power. This allows a fresh V-mount battery to be fitted without first switching off the camera. The internal battery has a 43Wh / 3Ah capacity and supports a 200W / 16A constant high load. SWIT specifies at least two minutes of runtime at a 200W load from a fully charged plate, even after 1,000 cycles.

120-second countdown display

When the main battery is removed, the KA-S30S LCD begins a countdown from 120 seconds, providing an immediate indication of the available battery-change window. Once a fresh battery is fitted, it also recharges the internal battery. The countdown subsequently returns to 120 seconds as the hot-swap battery replenishes.

Multiple power connections

The KA-S30S provides several connections for powering camera equipment and accessories:

• 2 x D-Tap: 12–16.8V, up to 125W / 10A each, 200W / 16A total
• 1 x 2-pin LEMO: 12–16.8V, 38W / 3A
• 1 x USB-A: 5V, 10W / 2A
• 1 x 8-pin LEMO input: 12–16.8V, for power station hot swapping

This makes the plate useful as more than a battery interface, providing additional power distribution for compatible equipment around the camera rig.

15mm rod mounting

A 15mm rod adaptor is supplied with the KA-S30S. This provides an alternative mounting option for 15mm rig systems, allowing the unit to power cameras without an existing V-mount plate.
