The iFootage Seastars Q1S-TP Updated Top Plate is designed to enhance the performance of your existing Q1 or Q1S quick release system. Maintaining the same fast, intuitive operation as the original plate, this updated version introduces a refined locking design that reduces unwanted movement and improves overall stability.
With an integrated grub screw and dual thread compatibility, it offers a more secure connection while simplifying setup on set.
Ideal for videographers and photographers already using the iFootage Seastars Q1 or Q1S system who want a more stable, reliable connection between camera and support.
The Q1S-TP top plate mounts directly to your camera or accessory using a 1/4"-20 screw, with a built-in 3/8"-16 threaded sleeve for broader compatibility. This eliminates the need to swap screws or keep track of separate bushings.
Once attached, the plate slides into your existing Seastars quick release base, locking securely into place. The added grub screw can be tightened using a standard 4mm Allen key, helping to minimise any play between the plate and base. Alignment markings on the plate make it easier to position your camera correctly, ensuring consistent orientation when mounting and remounting your setup.
This updated top plate improves on an already fast quick release system by addressing one of the most common issues in modular setups: micro-movement between components.
The added stability is particularly useful when working with heavier rigs or when consistency is critical, such as in repeatable studio setups or precise video work. The integrated thread sleeve also simplifies rigging, saving time and reducing the chance of misplaced parts.
