The DigitalFoto THANOS-PRO II is a second-generation body-worn gimbal support system designed to reduce the physical strain of operating handheld camera stabilisers during extended shoots. Combining an adjustable support vest, dual-spring arm and carbon fibre monopod sled, the THANOS-PRO II transfers the weight of your gimbal setup away from your arms and shoulders, helping you maintain greater control and stability while filming. Supporting payloads up to 10.5kg (23.1lb), the system accommodates a wide range of single-grip gimbals, including the DJI RS 4 Pro, RS 5, RS 2, RSC 2 and Ronin-S, alongside selected Zhiyun, Moza and other compatible stabilisers.

The adjustable monopod sled, counterweight system and tilting yoke allow operators to fine-tune balance for different camera configurations. Body-worn vest and dual-spring support arm

The THANOS-PRO II uses an adjustable vest and dual-spring arm to support the weight of the gimbal assembly. Instead of carrying the entire setup through your arms and shoulders, the body-worn system helps distribute the load across your torso.

This reduces the effort required to hold and operate heavier gimbal configurations, particularly during prolonged filming sessions or repeated camera movements. The spring-supported arm also helps manage vertical movement as the operator walks, contributing to more controlled footage alongside the stabilisation provided by the gimbal itself.

Adjustable carbon fibre monopod sled

The carbon fibre monopod sled provides the main connection between the gimbal and the support arm. Its adjustable length of 18–32 inches (approximately 46–81cm) allows operators to adapt the system to their preferred operating position and camera configuration.

The sled supports 1/4"-20 and convertible 3/8"-16 mounting connections, accommodating a broad selection of compatible handheld gimbals. Its carbon fibre construction provides a rigid structural platform for the gimbal and associated balancing components.

Tilting yoke and collar for versatile camera positioning

The yoke and collar assembly connects the monopod sled to the dual-spring support arm. This arrangement allows the sled to tilt during operation and can be inverted for underslung camera positioning.

For cinematographers working on tracking shots, low-level perspectives or creative camera movements, this provides additional flexibility without requiring a completely different support system. Two additional 1/4"-20 threaded mounting points on the collar offer further options for compatible accessories.

Adjustable counterweight balancing system

The THANOS-PRO II includes a sled base fitted with 15mm carbon fibre rods and adjustable mounting brackets. These brackets can slide along the rods, allowing operators to change the position of the counterweights and other mounted components. The supplied counterweights consist of two 2lb weights and two 1.1lb weights, providing a total of 6.2lb (approximately 2.8kg) of counterweight.

By adjusting the sled length, counterweight position and overall weight distribution, operators can balance the system for different gimbal, camera and accessory configurations. The counterweights are secured using wingnuts for tool-free adjustment. The sled base also incorporates feet, allowing the assembly to be placed on the ground between takes.

V-mount battery plate and power distribution

An included V-mount battery plate provides power distribution options for compatible cameras, monitors and production accessories.

A selection of power cables is included, covering compatible Sony, Canon and Blackmagic camera configurations, alongside monitor power connections. Supported camera families identified for the supplied cable types include selected Sony a7, a6-series and Canon 5D/6D models, plus the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K. The battery plate mounts using a 15mm LWS rod bracket, allowing it to form part of the adjustable sled assembly.

11-inch articulating accessory arm

The included DigitalFoto Ironman 11-inch articulating arm provides an additional mounting solution for compatible monitors and accessories. With a stated 17lb payload capacity, the arm can attach to a 1/4"-20 mounting point on the sled base.

This gives operators flexibility to position monitoring equipment around the main camera assembly, helping keep essential shooting information accessible during operation. Additional accessory mounting is available through the sled base's cold shoe and 1/4"-20 threaded connections.
