The BM-U175 is a 17.3-inch professional studio monitor designed for 4K and 8K broadcast, production and post-production monitoring. Its 3840 × 2160 LCD panel is supported by four 12G-SDI inputs and four 12G-SDI outputs, HDMI 2.0 input and optional SFP-based fibre connectivity.

The monitor supports single-link 4K, quad-link 4K and quad-link 8K workflows, including both Quad mode and 2SI interleave mode. Four independent 4K sources can also be displayed simultaneously, making the BM-U175 suitable for multi-camera monitoring and technical evaluation.
Built-in waveform, vectorscope, histogram, focus assist, false colour, zebra and audio analysis tools provide practical on-set and studio monitoring without requiring separate measurement hardware for everyday image assessment.
For HDR and colour-managed workflows, the BM-U175 supports HLG, PQ, Sony S-Log3 and multiple SDR gamma options, alongside BT.709, DCI-P3, BT.2020 and native display gamut selections.

The BM-U175 is suited to broadcast studios, OB and production environments, post-production facilities, engineering racks and multi-camera installations requiring high-resolution SDI monitoring with detailed video and audio analysis tools.
Its rack-mountable 7U design also makes it particularly useful for fixed installations where monitoring needs to be integrated into a standard 19-inch equipment rack.

Four 12G-SDI inputs and four 12G-SDI outputs provide flexible connectivity for professional UHD production systems.
The monitor supports single-link 4K as well as quad-link 4K and quad-link 8K signals. Quad-link operation supports both Quad mode and 2SI interleave mode.
HDMI 2.0 provides an additional input option for 4K signals up to 60p.
Optional SFP connectivity can add 12G-SDI optical fibre input or ST 2110 IP input where required. The SFP optical fibre adaptor is available separately.
Four independent 4K video sources can be displayed in Multiview. The monitor supports mixed 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and HDMI formats.
Waveform, vectorscope, audio meters, EOTF and colour gamut selections can be configured for individual inputs, helping operators assess multiple feeds from a single display.
The BM-U175 supports HLG, Dolby Vision PQ and Sony S-Log3 HDR EOTFs together with SDR gamma settings of 1.0, 1.8, 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6.
Colour gamut selections include the LCD panel's native gamut, BT.709, DCI-P3 and BT.2020.
Incoming Payload ID information can be used to configure monitoring parameters automatically.
Depending on the Payload ID information received, the monitor can set HDR or SDR EOTF, colour gamut, input range, colour space and colour depth. This can reduce manual configuration when moving between correctly identified production signals.
A single input can be duplicated across four windows and displayed using different HDR, SDR and colour gamut settings.
This allows operators to compare different monitoring interpretations of the same signal, including workflows producing HDR and SDR versions together.
Built-in 3D LUT calibration software allows compatible X-Rite i1 and JETI Specbos 1211 probes to connect directly to the monitor via USB without requiring a computer.
The monitor generates its own colour patterns, receives measurement data from the connected probe and creates a corrective 3D LUT automatically.
Specified calibration time is approximately 15 minutes with an X-Rite i1 or 45 minutes with a JETI Specbos 1211. The stated calibration result is ΔE ≤1.0.
A dedicated zero-latency mode is available when monitoring 4K input sources.
Specified latency is less than 1/100 of a frame, helping with applications where close audio and video synchronisation is important, including lip-sync monitoring.
Built-in conversion LUTs support multiple camera log formats, including Log C, Canon C-Log, Sony S-Log2 and S-Log3, Panasonic V-Log, J-Log1 and RED LogFilm.
Conversions to HLG1000, PQ1000 and Rec.709 SDR are supported.
User-created LUTs can also be loaded from USB, with support for 17 × 17 × 17 3D LUT cube files.
Integrated monitoring tools include:
Waveform
Vectorscope
Histogram
Focus assist
False colour
Zebra
These tools provide immediate visual feedback for exposure, colour, focus and signal evaluation during production and technical monitoring.
The BM-U175 can display up to 16 channels of embedded audio meters.
Any two channels can be selected for monitoring through the built-in speaker or 3.5 mm headphone output.
Lissajous and 5.1+2 surround sound monitoring patterns are also supported.
A built-in eye pattern display can be used to assess incoming SDI transmission quality, including demanding 12G-SDI signals.
This is useful when checking signal integrity and diagnosing potential SDI cable or transmission issues.
The monitor can be controlled remotely over an Ethernet LAN connection using a computer web browser.
The web interface allows operators to select inputs, adjust picture settings, configure video and audio functions and assign function keys without installing a separate application.
A pair of rack ears is supplied for fitting the BM-U175 into a standard 19-inch equipment rack.
The monitor occupies 7U of rack space.
The BM-U175 combines UHD studio monitoring, 8K-ready quad-link connectivity, HDR viewing and signal analysis in a rack-mountable 17.3-inch format.
Its combination of four 12G-SDI inputs, four-source 4K multiview, automatic calibration, user LUT support and built-in scopes makes it suitable for both creative image assessment and technical signal monitoring.
Optional fibre and ST 2110 connectivity also allow the monitor to be configured for installations moving beyond conventional baseband SDI infrastructure.
