Product Information

The CITI400 PRO Battery Powered 400Ws is the ideal tool for any photographer’s arsenal, giving super-fast recycle times and an impressive 390 full powered shots per charge.

The PIXAPRO CITI 400 PRO (Godox Witstro AD400 PRO) is a revolutionary battery powered portable monolight that features true TTL and High-Speed sync functionality for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic and Fujifilm cameras. The PIXAPRO CITI 400 features a new and improved self-contained rechargeable Battery, meaning that the battery is attached directly to the body of the strobe, instead of having a separate battery pack. It also features a built-in 2.4GHz advanced receiver compatible with the PIXAPRO ONE System, giving you more reliability with your trigger and usable at 80m away from the flash.

The PIXAPRO CITI 400 PRO is a powerful 400Ws flash with a guide number of 72m at ISO100 with the standard reflector attached. Its 21.6V / 2600mAh rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack will give you approximately 390 full-powered shots per charge.  The CITI400 is capable producing short flash durations of between 1/240 second to 1/12,820 second (dependant on flash power output), whilst maintaining colour accuracy throughout its power range with the super stable colour output which opens up a whole world of possibilities. It also has an ultra-short recycling times of between 0.01 and 1 second, that’s less than a second!.

The CITI400 PRO has a new and improved LED modelling lamp, the 30W bulb will give you the equivalent output to 300W tungsten, giving you Proportional, Variable and Synced control of your modelling light.

The CITI 400’s user-friendly interface, with large Dot-Matrix LCD screen enables you to quickly and easily change your flash settings with the use of large, easy to access buttons and a control dial.

The PIXAPRO CITI400 features a variety of different flash modes including a High-Speed Sync mode (up to 1/8000 sec), Second-Curtain Sync, Flash-Exposure Compensation, and Flash Exposure Bracketing (up to ±3 stops). It also includes a multi-flash mode, which can be set to between 2 and 100 flashes at a frequency between 1 and 100Hz (flashes per second), which allows you to create many different effects such as stroboscopic photography.

The Bowens S-Type accessory mount enables it to be used with a wide range of modifiers, to account for every possible lighting requirement in your studio.

The PIXAPRO CITI400 is the perfect solution for the photographer who requires the speed and simplicity of a TTL speedlite, but also requires the power of a studio monolight for use on location.

Reviews for PIXAPRO CITI400 Pro TTL Battery Powered Flash (AD400 PRO)

(4)   By: jim carter | 5 October, 2018

Almost perfect

... if only they'd used a thumbscrew on the umbrella mount; some of Westcott's modifiers rely on tension to maintain their shape - Halo Mono for example - but that is not possible as the umbrella spindle cannot be secured into the clamp. 5/5 for everything else. A firmware update is available for the triggers to enable 0.1 stop adjustment. Customer experience was impeccable, thank you PiXAPRO

Questions & Answers

The Standard Reflector does come in a two-piece design, allowing it to be used with the S-Type adapter

Yes, te CITI400 Pro it is compatible with the ST-IV Trigger, as well as all of the other triggers in the PIXAPRO ONE System.

Yes the CITI400 Pro does allow 1/10th stop adjustment in manual mode.

Losing about a stop of power when using High-Speed Sync (HSS) mode compared to the flash output when not using HSS mode is normal. HSS works by rapidly pulsing the light from the flash (quicker than the eye can see) so that light gets to all parts of the sensor, which gives you even flash coverage across the entire sensor. However HSS it does have a few drawbacks:

  • Since the Light has to pulse, you do lose a fair bit of flash output, meaning that you will have to compensate by moving your flash closer to your subject.
  • It also requires a fair amount of power to perform High-Speed sync, which drains your batteries quicker than normal.

To see a more in-depth explaination of how High-Speed Sync works, please refer to our True High-Speed Sync vs Long Tail High-Speed Sync Blog Post
