My Cinematic Lighting for Portraiture kit features some of my most favourite modifiers available today: including flatpak octa boxes for a pleasing soft light, right through to using an optical snoots for a more edgy, controlled light source. All the strobes are battery powered which means I can create my look anywhere I want without having to worry about plugging anything in. This is very important for my commercial work or when I'm photographing on location. These tried and tested tools are the best tools in my opinion for creating a cinematic portrait with endless possibilities.

AD600 PRO Battery Powered Portable Flash

Power: at 600Ws of power controllable from 1/256th power which means you can go as low as 2.3W for many possibilities.

Flash Duration: it offers an impressive flash duration of up to 1/10,000s giving a sharper image, great for capturing movement or motion.

Fast Recycle Times: at just 0.01-0.90s you will not need to worry about a long wait in between shots reducing overall production time. 

Battery Capacity: the 2600mAh rechargeable battery will give approximately 370 full powered flashes.

IGBT Technology: achieve short flash durations of between 1/220 second to 1/10,000 second for sharper images whilst maintaining colour accuracy throughout its power range, great for motion

Variety of Flash Modes: including a High-Speed Sync to help overpower the sun, It also includes a multi-flash mode, to between 2 and 100 flashes at a frequency between 1 and 100Hz (flashes per second), which allows you to create many different effects such as stroboscopic photography.

TTL: Get the correct exposure automatically to make worrying about settings not an issue, ideal for those shooting in changing conditions

R200 Ring Flash

Optical Snoot for Cinematic Lighting

Compatible with Canon EF Lenses: Can be used in conjunction with any Canon EF or EF-S mount lenses, giving you the option of using either wide-angle lenses (for projections that cover a wide area) or telephoto lenses (for smaller, more controlled projections).

Comes with a Selection of Gobos: A selection of 16 different gobos which enable you to project different shapes and patterns onto your background or subject. You can focus or de-focus the light to produce softer or sharper projections, depending on the type of look you are trying to achieve.

Interchangeable Fitting: The EF-Mount Optical snoot features an interchangeable speedring, which enables it to be used with a variety of different flash brands, including Bowens, Elinchrom, Broncolor, Profoto plus other brands.  

85mm Lens Optic for Cinematic Lighting

Tailored Lens Design: The complex lens design of DSLR camera lenses (which are generally made up of multiple internal lens elements), is not really necessary, to achieve a crisp, clean projection. Therefore, this lens has been put together with only the requirements necessary for producing a clean and crisp projection, making it a cheaper alternative for purchasing an 85mm camera lens if you do not need the same lens for your camera also. This Lens Optic features a screw thread, which simply screws onto the front of your Optical Snoot Projector II.

Metal Construction: The Pixapro 85mm Lens Optic features metal construction, with a smooth twist focusing mechanism. Ideal for precise focus adjustments. 

FlatPak Softbox for Cinematic Lighting

Built For Speed And Efficiency: It features a revolutionary patented hinged opening mechanism, where the softbox can be unfolded, and the locking mechanism simply clicks into place. Once you have finished using your softbox, the locking mechanism is released with a simple flick of a switch.

Highly Efficient: Highly reflective Profi-line, designed to maximise light output from your light source. It also produces a softer, more homogenous light. Since the opening mechanism is located on the outside, there is nothing inside obstructing the light, giving back that extra bit of light.

Hardwearing Construction: High-quality heard-wearing fabric. It also features eight durable rods that have been stitched into the lining, so you don’t have to worry about the rounds coming out during use.

Double Diffusion Layer And Honeycomb Grid: Two layers of diffusion to help soften the light, giving you more control over your light and helping to further reduce harsh shadows. And a honeycomb grid, that attaches effortlessly to the front of the softbox, giving a narrower spread of light by restricting the beam without spilling onto the background.

161cm C-Stand With Boom Arm

Robust Stainless-Steel Construction: Stainless steel, with a shiny chrome finish, which makes it extremely strong, capable of taking loads of up to 10kg in weight. This makes them ideal for heavy light-fixtures used in TV and Film productions, as well as in professional photographic studios.

Telescopic Central Column: Thick sturdy two-sectioned telescopic central column, with a spring-loaded dampening system to absorb any sudden-drops, to reduce the risk of injury to yourself, or damage to your equipment. The Central column can be extended, giving this c-stand a minimum-height of 71cm and a maximum height of 161cm.

20” Boom Arm: Detachable 20” Boom arm with 2x 2.5” Grip heads for added versatility. The boom arm can be used to mount light fixtures enabling them to be positioned above or below your subject.

Detachable Turtle-Base Design: Detachable-base which makes storage and transportation a lot easier. The base of the C-Stand features a 1-1/8” Junior-Pin receiver, which used together with the main central-column of the C-stand, or can be used with heavier light lighting fixtures that use the larger Junior pin connection such as Arri lights, enabling you to use the legs like a heavy-duty floor stand.

Varied Leg Height: Three nested legs with varying leg-heights, which enables you to position multiple c-stands really close together in a way that is not possible with regular light stands.
