The PIXAPRO PRO ST-IV (equivalent to Godox's XPRO) a 2.4GHz TTL Radio flash trigger system capable of transmitting TTL information between your camera and compatible flashes. The PIXAPRO PRO ST-IV trigger has a transmission range of approximately 100m in an open area, and since the transmitter and receivers use radio waves as opposed to Infra-red, you don’t need direct line of sight and is not affected by bright sunlight which can sometimes cause problems with optical flash trigger systems.

The PiXAPRO PRO ST-IV transmitter features a large backlit Dot-Matrix LCD display, with a new and intuitive user-interface. The ST-IV now gives you the option of working with up to 5 groups (A, B, C, D and E) of flashes simultaneously. Each group can now be easily accessed via the five-dedicated group selection buttons, located at the side of the LCD screen. You can also mix TTL and Manual flashes together in one lighting set-up.

One of the PIXAPRO PRO ST-IV’s new features is its TCM function, which enables you to take a shot in TTL mode to attain the correct exposure and then convert the TTL power levels to display on the LCD as Manual power levels, all from the touch of a single button.

The PIXAPRO PRO ST-IV supports TTL, HSS (High-Speed Sync) Rear-Curtain sync and stroboscopic multi-flash. It also a USB Type-C port to enable you to update the ST-IV’s Firmware as new technologies become available.

The perfect solution for busy photographers who require a reliable TTL radio trigger system, with a quick and intuitive interface.

Features:

  • Large Dot Matrix LCD Screen Displaying 5 Groups
  • 5 Individual Dedicated Group Buttons
  • TCM Function – TTL – CONVERT – MANUAL
  • Built-in Zoom Controls
  • Global Adjustment of Group Power Levels (ALL Button)
  • Large Graphic Menu System with Multiple Custom Functions

PIXAPRO® PRO ST-IV 2.4GHz Flash Transmitter

The ability to control all my studio lights directly from the camera is such a benefit to my work, no more walking back and forward to lights to adjust settings. Would definitely recommend the st-iv trigger to use with compatible PIXAPRO studio lighting.

A much better trigger for those of us using Fuji X-Pro cameras. It makes the dials on top of the camera visible again. Which isn't the case with the previous trigger

PRO ST-IV 2.4GHz Flash Transmitter below

This trigger just works, by that I mean it is easy to control the power of individual flashes, press group A button and then change the mode or the power.
I have a Hybrid 360 TTL and a LUMI II 200 I can easily balance the power between the two just using the trigger.
The TCM button is great, just do a TTL shot, press this button and it converts both the trigger and the flash to the manual setting you can then just adjust this as required.
I have the Hybrid 360 in group A and the LUMI II in group C

Questions & Answers

Answer:

The Nikon iTTL system only supports TTL in groups A, B and C unfortunately. Groups D and E can only be used in manual mode at this moment in time.

Answer:

Please check the following criteria before getting in contact with us:

  1. Please check that the Channels and Groups match on both your ST-IV trigger, and your Li-ion580II speedlite.

  2. Check that your Speedlite is set to “AUTO ZOOM” mode, which is represented by letter [A] in a black box, just to the left of where it says “Zoom” (as shown in the image below).

  3. If you see the letter [M] in the black box instead, press the button labelled Zm/C.Fn on your speedlite, which should highlight the current Zoom-Value (e.g. 35mm 50mm etc.). Once highlighted, turn the dial anti-clockwise until you see the letter [A] appear in the black box, just to the left of where it says “Zoom”.

  4. Check that your Speedlite’s head is in the 90° position. The Auto-Zoom Function only works when the Speedlite’s head is pointing straight-forward. The Auto-Zoom feature doesn’t work with the Speedlite’s head in any other position.

So long as all three of those criteria have been met, the Zoom-Function on your ST-IV should work with no problems

Answer:

This is only a Trigger, you will need to purchase a separate receiver.

Answer:

Yes, this trigger will work together with the CITI600

Answer:

The ST-IV is an update based on customer feedback, both of these will still work perfectly with a Canon camera.

Answer:

The Li-ION580 MKII Manual is built only as a manual flash. You can not add TTL functions to it, even when using this trigger.

Answer:

Yes, you can use this trigger to turn each group on/off by selecting the group and hitting the mode button (it will cycle through TTL/manual until it goes to off).

Answer:

You can't unfortunately as the Pocket wizards use a different signalling protocol and radio frequency.

Answer:

This Trigger can be used with a variety of different camera brands. These brands are Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Olympus/Panasonic.

Answer:

By default, the ST-IV won’t trigger the flash if placed within very close proximity to your flash (normally within approximately 30cm or so). Since the RIKO400 ring flash is generally used on-camera, which is too close for the ST-III or ST-IV to trigger. You can, however, switch your ST-IV to 0-30m mode, which will enable you to shoot at very close proximity. Simply go into the C.Fn menu, select the "DIST" option, then set it to 0-30m.

Answer:

There are many things that could possibly cause your flash to mis-fire. Here are a few possible reasons and solutions:

  1. Interference: - The signal from the ST-IV trigger can be disrupted by any other devices that use a similar frequency (e.g. wireless base station, 2.4G Wi-Fi router, Bluetooth etc).

The best solution would be to use a different channel using the CH button setting on the flash trigger. We recommend using a channel that is ±10, or more for a better chance of resolving the interference (e.g. If you are currently using Channel 1, try using Channel 11 or higher). and use the channel which is not disturbed.

If you have the option to, try turning off any other devices that maybe using a 2.4GHz signal also.

  2.

  3. Ensure that the flash has fully recycled: - If you are shooting in quick succession, and you find that you are getting mis-fires, there is a chance that you haven’t given the flash enough time to recycle or to catch up with the continuous shooting speed. Also check that your light hasn’t gone in to over-heat protection mode, or that there isn’t any other abnormal situation.

To remedy this, try using your flash at a lower power setting. If the flash is in TTL mode, please try switching it to Manual mode, as a pre-flash is needed in TTL mode, which can slow the rate of fire slightly.

  4.

  5. Your Flash Trigger is in very close proximity to the flash: - By default, the ST-IV won’t trigger the flash if placed within very close proximity to your flash (normally within approximately 30cm or so).

If you are required to shoot at very close proximity to your flash, you can switch your ST-IV to 0-30m mode. To do this, simply go into the C.Fn menu, select the "DIST" option, then set it to 0-30m.

  6.

  7. Battery Levels: - If your batteries are running low, there is a chance that the batteries can’t provide enough power to send a signal. In this situation, please replace the battery (we recommended 1.5V disposable alkaline batteries).

A new ID feature has been added to later firmware revisions, to further reduce the chance of signal interference. Simply assign matching IDs to your Trigger and all of your flashes (Currently only available on battery flashes).

Answer:

The ST-IV can be used to trigger other brands of flashes, however you will require an ST-III receiver to do so. Different flash manufacturers use different protocols in their triggering systems, meaning that the chances are that our triggers will not be cross compatible with the radio triggering systems from other manufacturers.

Whilst the ST-IV will be able to trigger the flash if paired with an ST-III receiver, you may not be able to remotely control the power of third party flashes. Other feaures such as TTL or HSS may also not be possible with other brands of flash.

However, the ST-IV trigger should work with GODOX and Flashpoint flashes with a built-in 2.4GHz receiver with no problem.

Answer:

The ST-IV trigger will work with the HyBRID TTL flash as long as the Nikon version is selected from the drop down menu. Please be aware that you may need the latest version of firmware in order to ensure full compatibility.

Answer:

Hi. either the ST-III or the ST-IV triggers will work with the CITI600 flashes with no problem. Both triggers are available for Nikon and Sony.

The ST-III triggers can be purchased here, and the ST-IV triggers can be purchased a here

Answer:

In order to control the zoom remotely using the ST-IV trigger you will need to set the LI-ION580 MKII in to auto zoom mode.

To do this you will need to firstly press the Zoom button, once press you can then use the scroll wheel to adjust the zoom on the flash. If you continue to scroll on the wheel, the small letter near the zoom settings should go from M to A, this will now be on auto mode. Once on auto zoom mode you will be able to adjust the zoom of the flash from the trigger.

PLEASE NOTE: THE ZOOM FEATURE DOES NOT WORK WITH THE MANUAL VERSION OF OUR LI-ION580 II SPEEDLITE

Answer:

It is not possible to change the power of your flash in 1/10th stop increments I'm afraid, this can only be done in 0.3 stop increments for this trigger.

Answer:

The ST-IV trigger can be used with our PRO AC receiver, however this will have to be our 2.4GHz version which can be found here; https://www.essentialphoto.co.uk/product/pixapro-2point4ghz-pro-ac-wireless-16-channel-radio-flash-receiver-only/ This will not work with our first generation of this receiver as it operates on a different frequency.

Answer:

The ST-IV trigger can be used as a remote shutter release, however, you will also require an ST-III receiver in order to do so.

Answer:

The first option is best suited for times when you are shooting by yourself. If you have multiple shooters using the same group(s) of lights in this mode, the settings on the lights will change depending on which shooter presses the shutter button last.

The Second option is useful for times when more than one photographer is triggering the same flash group(s) with different cameras. In this mode, the settings on all of the ST-IV triggers will automatically all update themselves, depending on whichever settings were last changed. This mode ensures that all the settings are the same across all ST-IV triggers in the same group.
PLEASE NOTE: The batteries will drain quicker in this mode since each ST-IV unit is constantly communicating with one another.

The App option is for when you are using the phone APP to control the flashes.

Answer:

Unfortunately this trigger will not allow you to use TTL with the CITI600 manual version, in order to use TTL with this trigger you would need to use our CITI600 TTL.
