PiXAPRO S300D vs Aputure C300D
In this Blog, we take a look at two options, the PiXAPRO LED S300D and the Aputure C300D, and see which of these lights would offer a professional quality whilst still being affordable for the average customer.
The PIXAPRO LED S300D is a Super-Bright 330W LED studio light which uses the latest High-quality COB LED technology with brightness in excess of 65,200 lux at 1m, (camera exposure settings of f/20, 1/50 shutter-speed ISO 200) which is brighter than a 2K tungsten or 400w HMI. The LED S300D can happily work continuously for sessions of more than 12 hours, making it ideal for most professional applications.
The LED S300D has a Colour Rendering Index (CRI) of ≥97, for super-accurate colour reproduction, and a Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI) rating of ≥97 (which is the industry standard measurement of colour fidelity). This means that the LED S300D is suitable for broadcast, TV production, filmmaking as well as for stills photography.
The LED S300D uses the popular Bowens S-Type Bayonet mount, which enables it to be used with a wide range of lighting modifiers, including Softboxes, reflectors, snoots and Beauty Dishes and Fresnel lenses etc.
The LED S300D features a durable Aluminium Alloy housing, with copper tubing, and three quiet cooling fans for highly efficient heat dispersion. This allows the LED S300D to remain relatively cool during extended shooting sessions.
The Brightness of the LED S300D can be controlled via the dimmer dial located at the back of the unit, or via the included 16 Channel 2.4GHz wireless remote control, which enables you to a single light, or multiple lights in up to five groups. The Remote enables you to remotely control the brightness of the light from 100% down to 10% of its full Power.
The PIXAPRO® LED S300D is a powerful economical solution for larger video productions, or for photographers who wants super-powerful continuous lighting.
Please be aware when using the high powered LED COB chips although these will produce little heat, you will need to ensure sufficient air flow when using a modifier to avoid it causing damage to the light or modifier.
