Product Information
Description

PLEASE NOTE: This video is not full a representation of what is included in this listing as some items are used for demonstration purposes only. Please see the “Specifications” tab for information on what this listing includes.

This 30x120cm Strip softbox with the honey comb grid is an essential accessory for any lighting system. It features an interchangeable speedring fitting, which enables you to change the fitting, should you decide to change your flash system.

The honey comb grid, also called egg crate, will result in a narrower spread of light which can be positioned directly onto the subject without light spilling on the background. This softbox features 5cm honeycomb grid, and it is very simple to attach using the wide Velcro strips on the inside of the softbox. The honey comb cells are much deeper than most and hold their shape extremely well.

The interior has a reflective silver surface, together with the front and inner diffuser to provide an even, softer pool of light. This grid softbox can also be packed down into a carry bag when not in use.

Traditional setup softbox ideal for studio use

We also have the Easy setup version that can be found HERE.

PLEASE NOTE: THE FLASH UNIT AND STAND ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS LISTING.

Features:

  • Highly reflective interior to maximise light-efficiency
  • Two layers of diffusion
  • Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use
  • Comes with removable honeycomb grid to reduce the spread of light
  • Light your subject without the worry of light spilling onto your background
  • Ideal for rim-lighting your subject to separate them from the background
  • Comes with carry case for easy transportation

PIXAPRO 30x120cm Strip Softbox With 5cm Grid

A perfect addition for my home/mobile studio

(5)   By: Wilfried | 14 December, 2016

HEADSHOTS : Fiona

I have updated my lighting setup for headshots to make it more flattering for the subject, while also giving me a lot of flexibility to be able to get the best possible lighting for every single client. Using three strip boxes from Pixapro gives me exactly that flexibility, using one as main light and two as fill light. Every Pixapro strip box even comes with a grid included, so I can also use it from behind or the side as a kicker or rim light.

Questions & Answers

Answer:

The Honeycomb grids (sometimes referred to as Egg Crates) are used to control the spread of light. The smaller the grid, the more concentrated the beam will be. These are ideal if you don’t want the light to spill onto certain parts of your set such as the background.

Answer:

Compared to a traditional softbox, strip softboxes are highly directional, yet still provide a soft light. They are most commonly used for rim-lighting your subject to create separation from the background, but they can be used in many other ways also. They are perfect for any situation where you need rapid light falloff from the sides of your lights source. Our Strip Softboxes can also be rotated to be used in a horizontal position or any other angle that you require.

Answer:

Our Softbox speedrings are all comprised of two separate parts. The Outer-Ring which is the part where the softbox rods are inserted into, and an Inner-Ring which features the bayonet fitting for your studio flash head (the Inner-rings will vary in appearance depending on the fitting that you have chosen).

  1. First place the two parts on a surface with the four thumb screws facing upwards on the outer ring as shown in the photo below
  2. Remove all of the thumb-screws and place your inner ring in the centre of the outer ring bayonet side up as shown in the photo below.
  3. Once the inner-ring is in place, replace all of the thumb-screws to secure the Inner Ring in place as shown below.
  4. Your speedring is now complete and ready for use with your softbox.

Answer:

The Depth of this Softbox is approximately 40cm in depth.

Answer:

The Honeycomb grids (sometimes referred to as Egg Crates) are used to control the spread of light. The smaller the grid, the more concentrated the beam will be. These are ideal if you don’t want the light to spill onto certain parts of your set such as the background.

Answer:

All of the different types of softboxes in this range use the same speed ring, which is why there are more holes than there are rods for your particular softbox.

Please see the diagram below which shows you which holes should be used for each type of softbox.
