How To Assemble Pixapro Recessed Softboxes
How To Assemble Recessed Square/Rectangular Softboxes
The softbox is an enclosure around a bulb comprising reflective side and back walls and a diffusing material at the front of the light. A soft box can be used with either flash or continuous light.
The problem you might be aware of when you use your flash lights is that the shadows of the object are quite sharp, creating an artificial look to the object. The easiest and probably most effective solution is to use soft boxes to diffuse the shadows. The octagonal shape really helps to engulf your subject with soft even light. The unique octagonal shape allows round, defined highlights with the main bonus of round catch lights in your subject's eyes
The softbox in this listing is 120m octagonal shape , comes with an Interchangeable speeding ring, and inner and front white diffuser.
Traditional setup softbox ideal for studio use
We also have the Easy setup version that can be found HERE.

Essentially a third of the price of a branded make and just as good quality.
For the money, superb! Essentially a third of the price of a branded make and just as good quality. I have Elincrom and Bowens soft boxes (mine is fitted with an Elincrom adaptor for my studio lights) and this is just as good. Ok, difficult to put up and down and pretty big, but it gives a great catch light (much better than a square)! Very pleased with this product.

Don't be fooled by the price, the quality is top notch!
I received the 120cm Octa as a freebie with my second CITI600 TTL flash, having bought my first at the Photography Show earlier this year. I originally went to the show with the intention of looking at/buying the Phottix Indra (I checked it out and was quite impressed with it) but was so impressed with the CITI600's performance (and price), that I bought one.
Anyway, back to the Octa - firstly, it comes in a nice, Pixapro branded quality carry bag. Despite being a 120cm Octa, it packs down quite small, no doubt aided by the removable rear section, which is a great boon if you're going to use it with something like a quad speedlite adapter - easy to get to them without pulling off diffuser fabrics. The speedring is a chunky affair, the metal rods are sturdy and the outer fabric feels very thick and has an air of durability about it. The stitching is very well done and looks like it'll last for years. Initial assembly is straight forward if you've ever built a softbox - even if you haven't, the product video is self-explanatory and you'll have it assembled in no time. The softbox comes with inner and outer diffusers. The inner diffuser attaches via velcro tabs - so elegantly simple, they're verging on genius. Other manufacturers take note! Those silly elastic loops and metal clips that need the fingers of a five year-old to hook up are hopeless by comparison. The outer difuser slips on easily and is held firmly by more velcro tabs.
Light output is very even across the softbox and it's soft and well diffused. Used close-in, it's almost ethereal. There's a little more spill than with recessed designs, but then you knew that anyway....
All in all, it's a great quality Octa and costs a sixth of what you'll pay for a 120cm S-mount Octa from you know who.

PIXAPRO 120cm Recessed Octagon Softbox (No Honeycomb Grid)
I've rated this 4 stars only because I haven't used it yet. Quality seems more than satisfactory and I'm sure I'm going to be happy with it in use.

Great product with lovely light quality
Great product with really good light quality. Very well made and sturdy construction. Like any Octabox getting the last couple of rods in during assembly requires a lot of force and the same during packing up to pull them out but once you get used to it there is not a big problem. Getting a Quickring speedring would definitely help improve speed and ease. Its a good size, I recently did a group shot of 16 people and the light was even and soft across them all. Highly recommended product for your studio lights.
