Events Photographer Mark Ratcliffe talks About the MagMod System
The revolutionary MagGrip speedlite modifier system is designed to provide a quicker, easier, and stronger method of mounting modifiers for your speedlite flashes. This new and innovative system eliminates the need for noisy Velcro or sticky adhesives by using of magnetism. Two small, yet very powerful rare-earth magnets, which make a strong, quiet, secure, between your MagMod lighting modifiers.
The MagGrip is moulded from a single piece of silicone rubber, which stretches over the head of your speedlite for a tight and secure grip. The elasticity of silicone rubber doesn’t weaken over time, and is incredibly resistant to breaking or tearing.
The Perfect system for the creative strobist photographer

Leave MagGrip on. Make life easier.
The first time I stretched this little guy over the end of my flash, I knew it was going to live there. Yes, it’s tight on my Canon 600 Ex-RT’s, but it’s not TOO tight….just the right amount of snug. They even fit (snugly again!) in the cases for the flash, so it’s not a big deal, although I find I leave them bare in the camera bag now. (Your flash now has a big hunk of rubber on it…it’s safe!)
The magnets are the newer, stronger ones, and I’ve TRIED to shake off a few accessories stacked…it’s not letting go!
Buy one for each flash. Leave it on. Make life easier.

Best Modifier
When the MagGrip is on the flash head, it’s not coming off. This is the single best modifier holding system that actually doesn’t need constant re-adjusting throughout an event. What makes it even better is the strength of the magnets that mount the other MagMod modifiers to the flash head. It’s these individual strong aspects that allow the MagMod system to shine, all starting with the MagGrip.

amazing ! just leave it on !
I bought three of these guys to add to my Yongnuo flashes. These are pretty much going to be permanent for my flashes as stretching them over the flash head was tedious–my husband added the first one because I just couldn’t do it myself!
I like that the big rubber grip adds a little more safety to the flash so that, if it falls, it is less likely to be hurt.
These do add a little weight to the flash, but I don’t keep my flash on my camera so that doesn’t bother me in the slightest. The bulk is minimal, but it will take up a bit more space in your travel bags. However, with the attachments taking up such little space, you make up for this in the long run.
