With the release of our new Optical Snoot Spot Projector II, many people are wondering how this differs from the original Optical Snoot Spot Projector. In this blog, we will break down the differences between the two Snoots and how the Mark II version has improved.

Improve Light Efficiency

With the Optical Snoot Spot Projector II, we have looked into what can be achieved using the original and improved this where possible, specifically regarding the lighting. The Mark II version now offers a much-improved lighting efficiency of approximately 2/3 Stops, allowing you to achieve more with your lighting and create a better projection.

EF Lens Mount

The Optical Snoot Spot Projector II comes with an EF Mount, meaning that it can be used with a wide range of different EF Mount Lenses to suit your available equipment and to offer a wide selection of choices for your lighting.

Uniquely Designed Lenses

Available along with the new Optical Snoot Spot Projector II, we have created two new lenses that have been specifically designed to be used with this particular version of the snoot. With the option to choose between 50mm (Now available) and 85mm (Currently in production), these lenses will further improve the light efficiency of the Optical Snoot.


Updated Speedring

The Optical Snoot Spot Projector II features an updated Speedring with a new diameter of 15.2cm, this size is one of the more common available sizes on the market, so finding a replacement or a different mount is made much easier.

 

Redesigned Unit

The main body of the Optical Snoot Spot Projector II has been redesigned to help offer better light efficiency, and the cooling system has also been improved to help provide much better heat dissipation to prevent unwanted damage to the unit during long-term use.

Includes Gobo Set

The Optical Snoot Spot Projector II comes with 16 Stainless Steel Gobos to enable you to project a selection of different patterns and shapes onto the background or subject, offering you a wide range of unique styles that you can use for your end result.


Compatible with Original Accessories

You do not need to worry about having to purchase completely new accessories if you decide to upgrade to the Optical Snoot Spot Projector II, as the original versions of the Shutter Blades and Adjustable Iris Diaphragm will still be compatible with this particular unit.
